Kaleidoscope Reef

"Great Idea, Nice Style"

submission: Kaleidoscope Reef
date: September 26, 2008

Gameplay - Lots of fun little surprises and overall a really nice design. I do think the pacing is a little slow and you might have explained the rules better. But, i commend you on making a game that was fun and non-violent - tough job. :)

Visuals - Great style and great to see some a painted look in a medium so saturated with flat vector art.

Great stuff all around.

Pianist on the Way

"Impressive"

submission: Pianist on the Way

This trailer had some wonderful things going for it visually. Great color, animation and beautiful backgrounds. But, it lacked in pacing and storytelling for me.

I was able to understand that it was about a pianist, but that's about it. So, being a trailer, I hoped to come away with a little more about what to expect from the story. Showing mood and atmosphere is wonderful, something American animation struggles with, but if it's not balanced with story and drama it comes off as static.

I'd also add a further note. As NG grows in popularity, it's becoming difficult to judge fairly when single adolescents and even lone adult professionals are "competing" with studios. I'm not blaming anyone, obviously. It's great to see this caliber of work on NG but the negative is that those lone undergrounders don't get a fair shake at the spotlight, to which NG has built it's community around. I'm not sure what the solution would be, if there is one.

Either way, a tremendous final look and I hope you find the budget to complete this work. We need more modern 2D features! Keep it up, guys!

Nuff said.

Seriously, Commie, I can see this kind of show on TV. Similar to Robot Chicken, but funnier.

Zelda: Heart for the Hero

"Best Zelda Parody on NG"

date: June 4, 2007

This was really well done. The pacing was strong, as well as the acting.

You also have a really polished look to it. The humor was more "chuckles" than crying with laughter, but overall I think this is a wonderful short.

Not ass long and dull like so many other video game parodies.

Feel proud, Sexy Sexy Sexy Bicycle.

Feel proud.

Brill FxF and even better colors…

Though you might think of presenting this at have the size, it tends to get a bit choppy in places.

Overall great stuff, looking forward to more….

Sure there's a ton of Adam-inspired material in here, but what aspiring Flash animator doesn't borrow from him?

But, more importantly, there's just some plain good animation in here. That honey was great fun to watch, especially when it snatched her at the end. Great timing.

If I were to critique something, I'd say you could work on your visual constistancy. It's a bit on in places.

Overall, great job and I'll look forward to seeing more from ya...

5's or 10's just don't cut it when other shorts pale in comparison to such a wonderfully crafted animation. The animation and visuals were like a warm, gooey oatmeal cookie fresh from the oven. I love the expanded Brackenwood universe and can't wait too see more from the Yu Yus.

My hat is off to you, Adam and fuck you for being so damn good! ;) Keep 'em comin'.
